Gain in horizontal plane: if a horizontal antenna pattern is defined, then

(Eq. 162)

Gain in vertical plane: if a vertical antenna pattern is defined, then:

(Eq. 163)

When the two antenna patterns (horizontal and vertical) are selected, this means that the Horizontal horizontal and vertical planes are combined and SEAMCAT calculates the resulting antenna gain as a pseudo 3-D antenna gain . The calculation is based on the following approximation with a treshold value of 3 dBmultiplication in linear domain of the horizontal and vertical gains:

IF abs(Image Removed ) < 3 dB

Image Removed (in linear domain - not in dB)        (Eq. 158)

else

Image Removed (in linear domain - not in dB)                                                   (Eq. 159)                                               (Eq. 164)

              (Eq. 165)
