For generic systems, the antenna modelling consists of two elements: pointing and pattern definition. . The “Antenna Pointing” panel defines the antenna height,  and the pointing in azimuth and in elevation. The “Antenna Patterns definition” panel as illustrated in Figure 412 is where the pattern across the full range of angles is defined.

The antenna pointing azimuth and elevation angles determine the ultimate antenna gain applied in calculation of the link budget, but not the mutual physical positioning of the transmitter and receiver pair. The latter is determined by the “Path azimuth angle” parameter (see ANNEX 12:).
