Prerequisites for using digital terrain in SEAMCAT

Prerequisites for digital terrain use in SEAMCAT:

• Download and installation of SEAMCAT version supporting terrain functionality (SEAMCAT version 5.4.3A4 or later). Note that each subsequent version of SEAMCAT in general have kept implemented functionalities from the previous version, corrected reported issues, further enhance the functionalities and implemented many new functionalities.  

• SEAMCAT has built in terrain data readers of most common digital terrain data formats, however digital terrain data are not distributed. Therefore, user needs to collect the digital terrain data for the area of interest of the simulation study and put in the Folder reachable to SEAMCAT (could be also on the cloud storage). Note that some digital terrain data are available under open licenses while some of them may be more restrictive or proprietary. It is up to the user to take note and comply with the terms of the license for the acquired digital terrain data.
