Overview of SEAMCAT Terrain functionalities

Overview of SEAMCAT Terrain functionalities

SEAMCAT Terrain functionalities includes

  • Built in Terrain data readers for most commonly used DEM data formats (GeoTIFF, bil, hgt)

  • Implementation of multiple propagation models with terrain functionalities (4 PMP models supported and growing)

  • Implementation of digital terrain data for path loss calculation in SEAMCAT simulation and interference calculations:

a.    Implementation of digital terrain data in SEAMCAT scenario and simulation

b.    Implementation in generic and cellular-like systems

c.     Calculation of transmission loss using terrain for all three type of links: victim system, interfering system, and interference links

  • Implementing terrain features in other areas of SEAMCAT:

a.    Extending terrain features to SEAMCAT Tools, CommandLine, EPPs, External PMPs

b.    View and extract terrain height profiles data, export / import of profiles and results

c.     Adding Terrain settings to workspace settings – user exchange settings

d.    Consistency checks for existence of terrain data (heuristic approach)

e.    Profile GUI display, calculation performance enhancements for terrain calculations and RW
