Max RBs per Base Station

-

S

Scalar

-

Number of available Resource Blocks (RBs) per BS

Number of RBs per mobile

-

S

Scalar

-

Number of RBs per UE. Note the ratio of Max RBs per Base Station/ Number of RBs per mobile gives the number of active users per serving BS. This can however be overridden in OFDMA UL by using “User defined active MS per BS” where the number of active MS can be specified.

Handover Margin

S

dB

Specifies the maximum difference, in dB, between the links in users active list. The actual active-list selection is based on pathloss calculations.

Minimum Coupling Loss

S

Scalar

dB

The minimum path loss. It is used in the calculation of the effective path loss depicted in section ‎7.6.1

System bandwidth

Scalar

MHz

When the OFDMA is the interferer and depending on the direction of the interfering OFDMA link to be simulated, you should pay attention to the emission bandwidth of the unwanted emission mask and the system bandwidth (see Section ‎9.3.4)

 S

Receiver Noise Figure

Scalar

dB

Equipment-specific noise figure of receiver. It is used to calculate the noise floor. See Section‎1.2.2

Bandwidth of RBs

OFDMA LTE Link-to-system level mapping

F

Function (X,Y)

-

The traffic (i.e. bit rate) per UE is a look up table used to map throughput in terms of spectral efficiency (bps per Hz) with respect to calculated SINR (= C/(I+N)) (dB) (Signal to Interference-plus-Noise Ratio) level. A drop-down selection of Link level data look-up 2 dimensions functions from Library. The OFDMA Link level data has the same formats for uplink and downlink but with different values as depicted in Section ‎9.5. This link level data (bitrate mapping) is user selectable and can be modified depending on the simulation to perform. You are responsible to choose an appropriate set of data.
