The SEAMCAT configuration panel is accessible via general menu option <File/Configuration> ( ) also using <CTRL+G>, which opens the following dialog box:

On the General tab the following options are available for controlling the logging function:
- SEAMCAT home: This option allows you to define the SEAMCAT home directory where log file, report folder etc.. are placed (see Section 1.7.2);
- Log level: You may chose from among the log level options DEBUG, INFO, WARN, ERROR, FATAL or OFF;
- Format string: Format pattern of the log statements. You may select a pattern and you may also edit a pattern from the list. Newly edited patterns are added to the list;
- Select the application look and feel: Here you select from various display themes of SEAMCAT (Nimbus theme is recommended);
- The checkbox option < Show the “welcome to SEAMCAT” screen at startup > activates a dialog box which opens each time SEAMCAT is started (see Section 2.2).
