A1.5.2 Visualisation

Three visualisation modes are available according to the option selected in the display radio box, i.e. vector, C.D.F or P.D.F. You may save each visualised data by pressing the "Save" button as explained below. Further details on the save extension (.txt, .xls, .xlsx) is also given in Section ‎2.12.

  • Vector: this mode displays an events plot of the generated signal vector.

The saved data are formatted in two columns: the first column contains the event numbers and the second column contains the corresponding value of the signal strength for that event (in the units displayed).

Event number dRSS [dBm]
0.0 -136.11488844442846
1.0 -122.29568787623859
2.0 -79.77991992419228
3.0 -80.61033154758469
4.0 -106.19867659657338
5.0 -122.66942167419278

  • C.D.F.: this mode allows to display the Cumulative Distribution Function (CDF) of the generated signal. The CDF is computed on the generated signal vector raw data, i.e. as expressed in dBm and not on linear values.

The saved data are formatted in three columns: the first column contains the event numbers, the second column contains the values of the signal strength in the units displayed, and the third column contains the corresponding value of the cumulative distribution function.

  • P.D.F.: this mode allows displaying the probability density function (PDF) of the generated signal, i.e. a statistical histogram showing the square root of the number of given signal strength values. The user can change the number of bins
